What is this blog about?
Amazon Web Services is fascinating.
The sheer amount of innovation and technology that comes out of that company is truly impressive, its services reportedly reaching over 2 million businesses across the globe. The pace of innovation means that there's always so much more to learn.
Whether it's databases, AI/ML, quantum computing or blockchain, AWS really has something for every organization wanting to leverage the cloud.
In this technical blog I share my discoveries and deep dives into various AWS technologies, exploring how the services work and why they might be useful. It is a record of that which I find interesting and which I think you'd find interesting too.
Transparency is important to me: where possible, I provide references to original sources, but if I have to make an educated guess at how something works, I'll tell you that too.
A bit more about me
For the past 10 years (as of 2024), I have been working in various data roles in the UK but in the last 6 years I have specialised as an AWS Data Engineer. I'm in the process of achieving the full suite of AWS certifications - 6 out of 12 so far - with the aim to get the coveted Golden Jacket before July 2025 - it's real, right?
